In Feature PathFinder, select the child feature that you want to break the link to its parent. |

On the shortcut menu, click Drop Parents. |
Tip:
When you drop the parents of a feature, a symbol is added adjacent to the feature in Feature PathFinder to indicate that the feature is no longer associated to its parent.
