A picture or graphical representation stored as a bitmap, or raster, object.  Formats that can be imported  are Windows bitmap image file (.bmp), JPEG image file (.jpg), and TIFF image file (.tif).  Raster images are comprised of pixels in a grid, rather than the independently scalable elements of vector images.
