Export Options for STEP (.STP) Dialog Box

Controls how Solid Edge documents will be saved in STEP format. STEP is an international standard which defines a neutral file format for representation of geometric, topological and annotation data. Solid Edge supports the STEP standards AP203 class II - class VI entities, AP214 class II - class VI entities, and assemblies.

Solid Bodies, Export To

Specifies how you want to export solid bodies to the STEP file.

Class II Wireframe

Specifies that you want to export the solid bodies to a class II wireframe.

Class IV Surface Models

Specifies that you want to export the solid bodies to a class IV surface model.

Class VI Manifold Solids

Specifies that you want to export the solid bodies to a class VI manifold solid.

Export

Specifies what types of construction geometry you want to export.

Export Solids (Constructions)

Specifies that you want to export any construction geometry that exists as solid bodies.

Export Sheets (Constructions)

Specifies that you want to export any construction geometry that exists as sheet bodies.

Export Wires (Constructions) and Generals

Specifies that you want to export any construction geometry that exists as wire bodies.

Tube Centerlines

Specifies that you want to export only the construction geometry that is visible in the part or assembly.

Export Displayed Only

Specifies that you want to export only the active model and construction geometry that is visible in the part or assembly.

Translation Options

Specifies options for generating log files during translation.

Generate Log File

Produces a log file that contains warnings and information about the files involved in translation. The name of the file is the <filename>.log and it is located in the same folder as the STEP file.

Export AP214

Specifies that you want to export the Solid Edge document to STEP AP214 format, which is supported by many CAD systems.  AP214 is the standard STEP specification that is primary used in data exchange throughout the automotive industry.

Export Units

Specifies the units of measurement for the part being exported. You can set the units to millimeters, centimeters, inches, or meters.

User Info

Specifies general user information that you want to include in the Start section of the STEP file.

Author

Specifies the name of the author of the file you want to export.

Organization

Specifies the name of the organization of the file you want to export.

Program

Specifies the name of the program for the file you want to export.

Time Stamp

Displays the time stamp for the file you want to export.

Description

Specifies a description of the file you want to export.
