Rotate a view by aligning an edge

The Align Edge command is only available through customization and during the Drawing View Orientation step on the Drawing View Wizard by clicking the Custom button.

To align a linear edge with the horizontal axis of the view
  1. Click the Align Edge button .

  2. In the graphic window, click an edge you want to align with the horizontal axis of the view.

To align a linear edge with an approximate angle you define with the cursor
  1. Click the Align Edge button.

  2. Position the cursor over an edge, and when the edge highlights, drag the cursor to define the approximate angle to which you want to orient the edge.

To align a linear edge to a precise angle
  1. Click the Align Edge button

  2. On the command bar, type the angle you want, but do not press the Enter key.

  3. Position the cursor over the edge you want, then click to select it.

  4. Press the Enter key to rotate the view.
