The Print Drawings - Select Sheets dialog box identifies the individual sheets in the selected Draft files that will be printed. All cells are read-only except for the Print column.
By default, all sheets in the draft documents are selected for printing. To identify the individual sheets that you do not want to print, deselect the corresponding check box in the Print column.
For managed documents, if a row is disabled and the word No appears in the cell, then you do not have permission to access the selected file for printing.
Printer
Selects the printer to use.
Properties
Displays a printer-specific document properties dialog box for your currently selected printer.
Print to file
Opens the Print to File dialog box when you select the Print button. Use the Print to File option to save a document to a printer-ready file instead of routing it directly to a printer or plotter. This allows you to print from a computer that does not have the application installed, or to print to a printer other than the one you currently have installed.
Layout
Single sheet per page
Prints one sheet on each page of the drawing.
Multiple sheets per page
Generates a composite drawing by printing multiple sheets on each page of the drawing.
When you select the Preview button, the software calculates the best fit for all of the selected sheets that show a check mark in the Print column.
Options
If you are printing one sheet per page, displays the Options - Single Sheet Per Page dialog box for you to specify the position and orientation of the sheet.
If you are printing multiple sheets per page, displays the Options - Print Multiple Sheets dialog box for you to specify units, scale, margins, and whether to print cut lines.
Units
When printing multiple sheets, selects the units of measure--inches or millimeters--for calculating paper size, margins, and the distance between two sheet edges.
Note:
The Units option affects the units displayed by Largest sheet size only when the largest sheet requires a custom paper size.
Largest sheet size
Displays the following information to help you decide which printer to select:
Shows the paper size needed to print the largest sheet that is included in the print list. This changes according to the current selection of drawings and sheets to be printed.
If there is more than one sheet size in the print list, an asterisk (*) is displayed at the end of the string. Use this information to choose a Layout option.
Browse
Opens the Print Drawings - Select Documents dialog box for you to choose additional drawings (.dft files) to print.
Preview
Displays the Preview dialog box for you to verify the sheet layout of each page of the drawing.
If the selected sheet(s) is larger than the print size a dialog box appears indicating that <filename.dft> contains one or more sheets that are too large for the current print size, you can select one of the following options to specify how to handle the sheet:
Skip the document--If you choose this option, none of the sheets in the document will be printed. The drawing will remain checked in the Select Sheets dialog box, as a reminder that it was not printed. You can submit the document in a separate print job using a different paper size.
Modify the Print Drawings options--If you choose this option, the Options dialog box is displayed for you to make changes to sheet scale or margin settings.
Scale to fit--Automatically scales the sheet so it fits on the page.
Apply to all documents--For the current print job, specifies that this is how to handle any other oversized sheets that do not fit on the page.
Begins printing the drawing if you are printing one sheet per page. If you selected the Print to file option, then a printer-ready file is produced instead.
