Solid Edge administrators are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Solid Edge application. Their duties can range from installing software, loading maintenance packs, creating custom templates, controlling document privileges, and performing backups. Solid Edge contains features to assist administrators with their tasks.

• The Solid Edge Installation and Licensing Guide is delivered with the Solid Edge installation media and contains installation and licensing instructions.

• The Solid Edge readme.htm file in \Program Files\Solid Edge ST5 contains system requirements, installation instructions, and additional information regarding Solid Edge.

• The Solid Edge Administrator program gives you the opportunity to define policies and easily change the policies later.

• You can use features on the Solid Edge Options menu to:

  • Create custom templates.

  • Create and store backups of your documents.

  • Set the user profile for each user.

• The Solid Edge Standard Parts Administrator program helps you manage the standard parts database.
