You can use the Text command bar and the Text Box Properties dialog box to format text in a text box. For example, you can:
In a text box or text string created with the Text command, select what you want to format:
To format a paragraph, click and drag to select the text.
Yellow highlight shows what is selected.
To format a word, double-click the word.
Do either of the following to change the appearance of the selected text:
On the Text command bar, use the Text Scale, Font, Font Size, Text Color, Bold, Italics, and Underline formatting options.
Click the Properties button to open the Text Box Properties dialog box.
You can use the options on the Paragraph tab to change the formatting of the font and the spacing between characters.
On the Indents and Spacing tab, you can use the Before and After options in the Spacing section to add or remove spaces between the text and the edge of the text box. You can use the Line spacing and At options to specify the spacing between lines of text.
On the Bullets and Numbering tab, you can convert the paragraph to a list by selecting the Bullets option or the Numbering option.
Tip:
To apply a border to a text box, click the Border button on the command bar. To change the settings for the border, use the Borders and Fill tab (Text Box Properties dialog box).
Note:
To see a text box border that is thicker than 2 mm, set Display As Printed on the View tab of the Solid Edge Options dialog box.
To format a group of text boxes quickly and easily, select several text boxes and apply a text style by clicking a style on the command bar. You can modify a text style with the Styles command on the ribbon. To learn more, see Applying formats with styles.
If you apply a text style, you can override the formats of the style by setting options on the command bar or Text Box Properties dialog box.
In a text box or text string created with the Text command, do any of the following
(To indent the entire paragraph) Click in front of any line except the first line, and then press Tab.
(To indent the first line of a paragraph) Click within the text box or text string, and then do the following:
Click the Properties button to open the Text Box Properties dialog box, and then click the Indents and Spacing tab.
In the Indentation section, select First line from the Special list, and then in the By box, type the amount that you want the first line to be indented.
Tip:
You also can indent the first line by pressing the Tab key.
(To indent all lines except the first line of a paragraph) Do the following:
Select some of the paragraph text, but do not select the first line.
Click the Properties button to open the Text Box Properties dialog box, and then click the Indents and Spacing tab.
From the Special list, select Hanging.
In the By box, type the amount that you want all lines except the first line to be indented, for example, 25.
Tip:
To remove an indent, use the Backspace key.
