Recording
The options in the Recording section are all that you need to record a video.
Record (Shift+F9)
Starts recording the video and displays the Pause and Stop controls.
Pause/Start (Shift+F9)
Pauses the video. You can resume or stop the video.
Stop/Finish (Shift+F10)
Stops and finalizes the recording currently in progress. The recorded video automatically plays in the Windows default media player.
Play
Opens the video that was just recorded in the Windows default media player.
Duration
Displays the elapsed time as the video is recording.
File Size
Displays the file size as the video is recording.
Hide this dialog while recording
Hides the dialog during recording. Click the Record button at the bottom of the application window to show controls during recording.
Area to record
This option defines the area to record.
Drop list (Active Document Window is the default)
Drop list for area to record includes Custom Area, Solid Edge Application, and Active Document Window.
Define Area
When you select Custom Area as area to record, the Define Area button activates. Click the Define Area button and a cross-hair appears. Click and drag to define the area to record. You can define an area anywhere on any screen (inside or outside the Solid Edge window).
Audio
Records accompanying audio with video in Solid Edge.
Record audio
Turn on or off the audio during a recording.
Audio input device
Choose the audio input device to be used for recording.
Options
Displays the Compression Codec drop list
Audio settings
Launches the Windows sound control panel where the recording level can be adjusted.
Discard
Discards the video you just recorded and returns all settings to default.
Save
Saves the last recording that was made.
Upload
Launches the Upload video to YouTube dialog box.
Help
Displays the Help topic for YouTube videos in Solid Edge.
