Translate Pro/Engineer documents to Solid Edge

Step 1.

On the Start menu, point to Program, then point to Solid Edge ST6, then point to Data Migration, and then click Pro-e Data Migration.

Step 2.

On the ProE Data Migration dialog box, in the ProE Host Name field, specify a host. You can use the Browse button to display a dialog box that allows you to search for a host.

Step 3.

On the ProE Data Migration dialog box, in the Type of 3D Translation pulldown, select the type of translation you want to do.

Step 4.

On the ProE Data Migration dialog box, in the ProE Working Folder field, specify the ProE working folder that contains the files you want to translate.

On the ProE Data Migration dialog box, specify a Solid Edge template.

Step 5.

In the Connecting to ProE Data Migration dialog box, in the ProE Configuration File field, enter the configuration file name.

Step 6.

On the Connecting to ProE Data Migration dialog box, specify the log file location information.

Step 7.

If you want to import the Pro/Engineer documents as managed documents in Solid Edge, select the Add to Library option.

Step 8.

On the ProE Data Migration dialog box, specify the Insight Folder location information.

Step 9.

On the ProE Data Migration dialog box, click the Next button.

Step 10.

On the ProE Selection Page dialog box,  select the documents you want to open.

Step 11.

Click the Add button to add the selected folder or documents to the Files To Be Migrated list.

Step 12.

On the ProE Selection Page dialog box, click the Next button.

Step 13.

On the ProE Save Page dialog box, specify the configuration file to which you want to save the remapped configuration.

Step 14.

On the Saving Changes dialog box, click the Finish button.
